This proven tooth-straightening process uses a series of clear plastic trays to gently shift crooked teeth into correct positioning. The smooth, invisible aligners are removable, granting patients clearer speech without dietary restrictions. Brushing and flossing are also completed with more ease than those with traditional metal braces.
Each set of trays is worn for two weeks then are replaced with the next set in the cycle. Invisalign wearers achieve optimal results when they keep the trays in place for 22 hours a day. Patients can expect desired results in minimal time when committing to the recommended treatment plan.
Determining the Best Option for You
Invisalign offers more than the standard model with Invisalign Teen and Invisalign Express. With Invisalign Teen, adolescent patients have a less noticeable way to fix their smile’s alignment that allows for easier oral hygiene and increased comfort over traditional braces. The aligners provide the same benefits as the traditional models; however, this product features an indicator that lets the dentist, the parent, and the patient monitor the progression.
The Express option from Invisalign works in the same manner as the full version, but may be an option for patients that need much fewer aligners to achieve a uniform smile. This option is best suited for those with minor gaps or minimally crooked teeth, as the treatment plan calls for either five or ten sets of trays, whereas the standard treatment uses 10 or more trays, depending on the level of misalignment.
